Moon Milk

Updated: May 8, 2020

With all that is going on with the world today sleeping can be difficult. This warm drink is so soothing and delicious that it lulls your body into full relaxation.

I use almond milk because Ted is dairy free (and it's easier to shop for things we both can enjoy vs a jug of milk for me and a carton for him). I personally think that the almond milk actually makes it more delicious, it adds almost a hint of salt (despite the fact that no salt is added) that is lacking when you make it with milk. However, feel free to use whatever kind of milk you have in your home! It'll be yummy and relaxing no matter what!

Ingredients:

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

1 teaspoon of dried chamomile flowers (or if you have chamomile tea that's the exact same thing!)

1 teaspoon of dried lavender buds

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (or a couple of vanilla seeds if you have vanilla pods handy)

honey to taste

1. Simmer the almond milk, herbs (I put them in a teabag or tea infuser) , and vanilla for a few minutes to get it hot--but don't bring it to a boil.

2. If you used a tea infuser simply remove it and pour the infused milk into a mug. If you didn't, simply strain the infused milk through a metal mesh.

3 .Add your honey, mix well, and enjoy!
